POLICE SECONDARY SCHOOL SAGAMU HOLDS MAIDEN PASSING OUT PARADE, HONOURS EXCELLENCE AT GRADUATION CEREMONY

Discipline, academic achievement and character took centre stage as Police Secondary School, Oke-Ibu, Batoro, Sagamu, held its' maiden Passing-Out Parade, Graduation Ceremony and Prize-Giving Day, marking a significant milestone in the institution's history.

The event opened with a colourful march past by students, followed by the passing-out parade of the graduating class and a ceremonial guard of honour. The reviewing officer, representing the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, Area Commander of Sagamu Area Command, ACP Aremu Olusola, inspected the parade and took the salute. The ceremony began with an opening prayer led by Pastor Alex, Coordinator of Student Outreach, Sagamu Zone.

Delivering the goodwill message on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, ACP Olusola congratulated the graduating students and urged them to remain worthy ambassadors of their school. He encouraged them to embrace responsibility, diligence and lifelong learning, describing education as the foundation for personal growth and meaningful contributions to society.

In his welcome address, the school Commandant, CSP Nanloh Rindap, described the occasion as a defining moment for the school, noting that the maiden passing-out parade and graduation reflected the commitment, discipline and resilience demonstrated by both staff and students since the institution's establishment.

He commended parents for their sacrifices and unwavering support, while appreciating the dedication of the teaching and non-teaching staff whose efforts contributed to the success of the graduating class. He also praised the students for combining academic excellence with discipline, humility and perseverance, urging them to leave positive footprints wherever life takes them.

The Commandant expressed appreciation to the school's benefactors and partners, including the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, His Royal Majesty Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi; DIG Peter Ogunyanwo (Rtd); Mrs. Peter Ogunyanwo; Rev. Mrs. Ogunnowo; Mr. Dare and Mrs. Funmi Folarin; the Ijowa of Batoro, His Royal Majesty Prof. Adesegun Adedapo Ogunsola and his Council of Chiefs; the Parents-Teachers Association; the Ogun State Amotekun Corps; Hon. Damilare Bello, representing Sagamu State Constituency I through Hon. Olu Aremu; and other distinguished guests for their continued support of the institution.

Chairman of the occasion and Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Security Matters, AIG Olusola Zubair (Rtd), delivered a keynote address that underscored the importance of quality education, discipline and sustained investment in young people as pillars of national development.

The Force Education Officer, DCP Ibidapo Oladare Olubiyi, represented by the Director of Research and Planning, Dr. Adegoke, congratulated the graduating students and encouraged them to complement their academic qualifications with practical and vocational skills to enhance their future prospects in an increasingly competitive world.

Also addressing the gathering, the Parents-Teachers Association Chairperson, Mrs. Esther Adegoke, praised parents, teachers and students for their resilience, commitment and shared sacrifices in achieving another successful academic year. Other invited guests also offered words of encouragement, sharing practical advice to prepare the graduates for the opportunities and responsibilities that lie ahead.

The outgoing Head Girl, Adebola Wuraola and Head Boy, Abolade Pelumi, delivered valedictory addresses on behalf of the graduating class, reflecting on their experiences and expressing gratitude to parents, teachers and the school management for shaping their academic and personal development.

Adding colour to the ceremony, students staged vibrant cultural performances that celebrated Nigeria's rich heritage. The festivities culminated in a spirited celebratory dance involving the graduating students and the cultural troupe, drawing applause from guests and family members.

In his remarks, AIG Zubair also appealed for greater investment in the school's physical infrastructure, identifying the need for additional hostels, classrooms and well equipped science laboratories to support the institution's continued growth and improve the learning environment.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of prizes and awards to students, teachers and benefactors in recognition of academic excellence, exemplary conduct, dedication, consistency and outstanding service, bringing to a close a memorable occasion that celebrated achievement while setting a promising course for the future of Police Secondary School, Sagamu.
