BILATERAL JOINT NAVAL EXERCISE TO TAKE PLACE BETWEEN NIGERIA AND FRANCE

A joint operations exercise set to foster relations between the Nigerian Navy and the French Navy, is set to take place in the month of October.
The exercise according to the Commander of the French Navy Ship MISTRAL, is purely for training of personnel on both sides and seeks to promote skill development and measures of security and crime prevention on the seas.
This he said, is to face the challenges that come from safeguarding the nation's along the gulf of Guinea and being a part of several treaties like the Grand African Memo, they are in steady alliance with Nigeria and other countries Navies.
He said that they would also ensure to join hands with the Nigerian Navy to ensure safety along the international water route.
Also speaking at the briefing, the Chief Of Staff of the Western Naval Command also spoke on the Nigerian Navy's alliance with that of the French Navy which he described as mutually beneficial to both parties.
He said that through port calls, exchange of ideas, training of personnel to hone their skills, and combating sea crimes, the joint operations between both Navies would culminate into Operation Crocodile Lift later in the month.
He said the joint operation, in its' second edition, would not only help personnel on both sides to hone their skills but to also improve the image and mandate of the Nigerian Navy.
