FOUR NASARAWA STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS KIDNAPPED BY GUNMEN

Four students of the Nasarawa State University have been kidnapped and taken to unknown destination by gunmen.
The Nasarawa State Police Command have alsoconfirmed this development that occured in Keffi local government area of the state.
The state’s Police Public
Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, narrated that the abduction of the students occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at Angwan Ka’are in the LGA.He, however, said the Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Baba, had ordered a manhunt for the culprits.
The names of the kidnapped students are Rahila Hanya, a student of the Science Laboratory Technology Department; Josephine Gershon, a Computer Science student; Rosemary Samuel, a student of Business Administration; and Goodness Samuel, a student of the Geography Department. The students are all freshmen in the university.
When contacted to get the school’s reaction to the incident, the university’s Information and Protocol Officer, Abraham Ekpo, said that there had not been any official information lodged to the institution concerning the incident.
There have been rising cases of students abduction by armed men in the North and this is the latest.
On September 22, bandits abducted 30 students of the Federal University, Gusau, in Zamfara State.
In April this year, bandits abducted 10 students in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Last week, the Senate summoned the service chiefs over unabated insecurity in the country, including incessant kidnaps of students.
