OGUN POLICE RAMP UP SECURITY AHEAD OF EID- EL- FITR CELEBRATIONS

The Ogun State Police Command has stepped up security operations across the state ahead of the upcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebration, assuring residents of a safe and peaceful festive period.

In a press statement released by the State's Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, it said personnel and operational resources have already been deployed to key locations, including Eid prayer grounds, markets, highways and other public spaces. The early rollout is part of a broader strategy focused on crime prevention, visibility policing and rapid response to emergencies.

In a press statement released by the State's Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi,  it said personnel and operational resources have already been deployed to key locations, including Eid prayer grounds, markets, highways and other public spaces. The early rollout is part of a broader strategy focused on crime prevention, visibility policing and rapid response to emergencies.

According to the Command, security measures include coordinated patrols, surveillance, and intelligence-led operations designed to deter criminal activity before, during and after the celebrations.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, congratulated Muslim faithfuls on the completion of Ramadan and expressed confidence in the Command’s readiness to maintain law and order. He emphasized that protecting lives, property and critical infrastructure remains a top priority.

Residents have also been encouraged to stay alert and report suspicious activities using the Command’s emergency lines ; Gateway shield (General Complaints Line – Toll Free): 0800 000 9111; Emergency Numbers: 0906 283 7609, 0912 014 1706, 0915 102 7369, and 0708 497 2994.     
 
Authorities say public cooperation will be key to ensuring a hitch-free celebration.
The Police Command reaffirmed its' commitment to providing a secure environment for all residents throughout the festive period.
