Speculation circulated online on Thursday suggesting that popular Nigerian comedian and entertainer Samuel Animashaun Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggi, had been shot somewhere in Ogun State. Yet police authorities say no such incident has been recorded across the state’s security formations. Officials within the Ogun State Police Command indicated that neither operational units nor divisional headquarters had received a report matching the claim, raising questions about the origin of the circulating information.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Oluseyi B. Babasеyi, the police clarified that the alleged shooting could not be verified within Ogun State jurisdiction. The spokesperson explained that preliminary checks across police divisions revealed no complaint, emergency response record or incident log connected to the entertainer. Babasеyi added that the command had nonetheless commenced steps to determine how the report emerged and whether any factual basis exists.

The command urged members of the public to treat viral reports with caution and to await verified updates from official police channels. Authorities stressed that misinformation can easily spread during moments of uncertainty and reaffirmed that maintaining public safety and factual communication remains a priority while inquiries into the claim continue.
