CP OJAJUNI EMBARKS ON STRATEGIC VISITS TO BOOST SECURITY COLLABORATION IN OGUN

By Jennifer Nwosu

It was a busy day of handshakes, strategy and shared goals as CP Bode Ojajuni took a tour of key security formations across Ogun State, reinforcing a simple message that security works best when everyone works together. His stops included the Nigerian Army’s 35 Artillery Brigade, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the visits were described as part of a deliberate push to deepen collaboration, improve intelligence sharing and strengthen joint responses to evolving security challenges. The statement highlighted that modern policing thrives on trust, coordination and a united front among all security stakeholders.

At the 35 Artillery Brigade in Alamala Barracks, Abeokuta, CP Ojajuni met with Brigadier General Godwin U. Nwamba to review existing military-police partnerships and fine tune rapid response strategies, joint patrols and intelligence-driven deployments across key flashpoints.

His visit to the DSS Command, hosted by Director R.A. Adelakun, focused on strengthening intelligence gathering, surveillance and early threat detection, because stopping trouble before it starts is always the better option.

At the Nigeria Immigration Service, Comptroller Olufunke Yetunde Odusote led discussions around border security, tackling illegal migration and curbing cross-border crimes; issues that quietly shape the bigger security picture.

The tour wrapped up at the NSCDC Command, where Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo joined conversations on protecting critical infrastructure and coordinating responses to emergencies, vandalism and public disturbances.

CP Ojajuni expressed appreciation for the cooperation of all agencies, noting that strong partnerships remain the backbone of effective security. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining peace and safety across Ogun State through sustained collaboration and proactive policing.
