OGUN POLICE COMMAND HONOURS FALLEN HEROES WITH FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES

The Ogun State Police Command on Thursday continued its' Police Week activities with a solemn but impactful gesture. This was done by presenting cheques to the families of officers who lost their lives in active service. The Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, acting on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu, led the presentation ceremony, distributing a total of ₦30,552,851.16 to beneficiaries. The initiative highlights an ongoing effort to recognize the sacrifices of fallen officers while offering tangible support to the loved ones they left behind.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the Command emphasized that the gesture reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its' personnel and their families. The statement noted that honoring fallen heroes goes beyond remembrance, serving as a reassurance that their sacrifices are not forgotten and that their families remain an integral part of the police community. The Command reaffirmed its dedication to sustaining this support system as a cornerstone of institutional responsibility and morale.
Marked as Day 4 of the 2026 National Police Week, the cheque presentation underscores a broader message of duty, sacrifice and institutional care, this inforcing the enduring bond between the Force and those who serve, both in life and in legacy.
