OGUN POLICE INTERVENTION HIGHLIGHTS FIXABLE TRAFFIC PROBLEM

By Jennifer Nwosu

The Sango-Ota roads are flowing smoothly again, thanks to the Ogun State Police Command's crackdown on traffic gridlock. The "Operation No Traffic Gridlock" directive has brought relief to commuters who've long endured heavy congestion and delays on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

Police officers, led by senior officials like ACP Shola Oladele and the DPO of Sango-Ota, have been deployed to key points, traders have been moved off the roads, and motorists are following traffic rules. The efforts have made a noticeable difference, with traffic moving freely as early as 5 a.m.

The improvement is a welcome change, especially with ongoing construction reducing the road's capacity. While enforcement is key, it's also crucial for road contractors to speed up their work to ease pressure on the narrowed lanes. Sustained efforts will likely maintain the positive change.
