POLICE NAB 25 YEAR OLD OVER DOUBLE KILLING, MULTIPLE INJURIES IN OGUN

A violent late night attack in Olambe, Ogun State, has left two people dead and three others critically injured, prompting swift action from the Ogun State Police Command, which confirmed the arrest of a 25-year-old suspect linked to the incident.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the Command disclosed that detectives from the Ajuwon Division apprehended the suspect, Abubakar Musa, following the attack. The statement noted that the suspect allegedly carried out the assault after becoming agitated over failed business dealings, stabbing multiple individuals who had reportedly attempted to calm him down.
According to police accounts, the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, at about 1:38 a.m., when the suspect allegedly attacked five individuals with a knife. Two male victims, identified as Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25 and Chinedu, 40, were pronounced dead after succumbing to their injuries while being rushed to the hospital.
Three other victims, Mohammed Abubakar, 35; Ashiru Adamu, 25; and Paul Lawrence, 25, sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving medical care. Authorities say they are responding to treatment.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene immediately after the attack but was tracked down and arrested by police operatives. He is now in custody, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, condemned the incident, describing it as a senseless act of violence. He assured residents that justice would be pursued diligently and urged members of the public to remain vigilant.
Police authorities also encouraged residents to report suspicious or threatening behavior through designated emergency lines, emphasizing the role of community cooperation in preventing crime and enhancing public safety.
