CP OJAJUNI MEETS COMMUNITY LEADERS, STRENGTHENS POLICE - PUBLIC PARTNERSHIP IN OGUN

Community policing took the spotlight in Ogun State as the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Police Command, CP Bode Ojajuni attended the monthly meeting of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), engaging stakeholders on stronger collaboration, intelligence sharing and public safety initiatives across the state.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the meeting was described as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen trust between the police and communities in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu. The statement noted that the engagement focused on practical ways to improve community-driven policing, early response systems and local security partnerships.
Accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, DCP Murtala Bolanle, CP Ojajuni interacted with traditional stakeholders, community leaders, and PCRC members during the session, emphasizing that effective policing works best when communities actively support security agencies.
One of the standout moments of the meeting came from the PCRC Chairman, Comrade Lawal Abdullahi, who commended the Commissioner for personally attending the gathering, noting that it was the first time a serving Commissioner of Police in Ogun State had physically participated in a PCRC monthly meeting. CP Ojajuni, in his remarks, appreciated residents and stakeholders for their continued support through intelligence sharing, advocacy and community engagement, stressing that proactive policing depends heavily on public cooperation and trust.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to people oriented and intelligence-led policing, assuring residents that the Ogun State Police Command will continue strengthening partnerships aimed at safeguarding lives and property across communities in the state.
