OGUN POLICE LAUNCH PROBE INTO INCIDENT INVOLVING OGITECH STUDENTS

The Ogun State Police Command has opened an immediate investigation into an incident involving students of Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, and officers attached to the Igbesa Division. Authorities say the matter is already receiving urgent attention as concerns continue to grow within the student community.

In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the Command confirmed that Bode Ojajuni has directed a full and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The statement emphasized that due process would be strictly followed and that any officer found culpable of misconduct would face appropriate disciplinary action in line with existing regulations.

Police authorities also reassured students and residents that professionalism, discipline and respect for citizens’ rights remain central to the Command’s operations. While investigations continue, students of the institution and members of the public have been urged to remain calm, peaceful and law abiding.

The Command further stated that justice would be pursued without compromise and promised that the outcome of the investigation would be made public once concluded.
