OGUN POLICE ARREST 3 SUSPECTS, RECOVER STOLEN LEXUS OVER MURDER OF BUSINESS WOMAN, GUARD

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects for the murder of businesswoman Madam Olakitan Oyesiku and her guard, Pelumi Adetayo, 38. 

The Ogun State Commissioner Of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni told reporters Wednesday at Eleweran, Abeokuta, that the bodies were discovered June 21st, 2026 at Owode-Egba after a report of suspicious activity. The guard was found locked inside the security house while Oyesiku lay dead in the living room and her Lexus RX 330 was missing.


Technical tracking helped police recover the stolen Lexus June 22nd at Onikolobo despite the missing key and plates. A registration plate hidden under the seat confirmed ownership. Forensic analysis of a handwritten note left at the scene led detectives to principal suspect Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, 22, arrested June 24 at a construction site in Ibara GRA. His accomplices, guard Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola, 27 and bricklayer Sobu Obafunsho, 36, were also taken into custody.

Philip confessed he planned the June 20 attack “to teach her a lesson” over a grievance from when he worked as her guard. He recruited Ayoola and Obafunsho, they overpowered Pelumi to enter the house, killed both victims and fled with the Lexus. Police recovered a broken hammer, cutlass, plank and other exhibits. CP Ojajuni said investigation is ongoing to strengthen evidence for prosecution, with all suspects granted due process.
