OGUN POLICE ARREST 7 SUSPECTS IN ARMED ROBBERY, BURGLARY CRACKDOWN ACROSS SANGO-OTA, OWODE-EGBA, AGBADO

Ogun State Police Command has arrested seven suspects for armed robbery, house breaking, stealing, conspiracy, and conduct likely to cause breach of peace during intelligence-driven operations in Sango-Ota, Owode-Egba, and Agbado. In Sango-Ota, Pelumi Akintande, 21, Mojeed Sanusi, 28, and Mubarak Lateef, 17, were arrested for an armed robbery in Alasia Community after police tracked them with public tips. A locally fabricated cut-to-size pistol and expended cartridge were recovered, with a manhunt ongoing for other gang members.

In Owode-Egba, Damilare Makanjuola, 22, was caught attempting to break into a shop at Ofada and linked to burglaries in Sun City Estate where electrical items, cash above ₦100,000, and valuables were stolen. Also in Owode-Egba, Tijani Jubril, 28, and Ezra Modi, 22, were intercepted in Treasure Island Estate, Awo Village, with stolen electrical appliances allegedly taken from a home. In Agbado, Waris Adebesin, 22, was arrested near a secondary school armed with a knife after causing tension and disrupting access, with the weapon recovered.

All suspects are in custody undergoing discreet investigation while police pursue other accomplices, and recovered exhibits have been secured for evidence. Commissioner of Police CP Bode Ojajuni commended officers for professionalism and residents for timely information. The Command said the operations reflect a sustained statewide strategy to dismantle criminal networks, assured victims justice will be pursued, and urged the public to keep reporting suspicious activity.
