OGUN POLICE LAUNCH INVESTIGATION AFTER TWO SUSPECTS DETAINED IN SECURITY OPERATION

The Ogun State Police Command has commenced an investigation into two male suspects apprehended by personnel of the Nigeria Forest Security Service during a security operation in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode.

In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the Command said the suspects were intercepted on Thursday, June 4th, 2026 and subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation. Authorities noted that preliminary inquiries are underway to establish the identities of the individuals and determine the circumstances surrounding their presence and activities in the area.

Police officials emphasized that the situation remains under control and urged residents not to panic. According to the Command, the suspects will be subjected to a thorough and professional investigation in line with established legal procedures, while any further action will depend on the outcome of ongoing inquiries.

The development underscores the continued collaboration between security agencies operating across Ogun State as efforts to strengthen public safety and intelligence gathering remain a priority.

The Command also encouraged residents to continue supporting law enforcement agencies with credible and timely information that can assist ongoing security operations and investigations.
