CP OJAJUNI EXTENDS SECURITY TOUR TO IFO, STRENGTHENS COMMUNITY POLICING

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni has focused on Community partnership as part of his statewide familiarization tour as he arrived at the Ifo Area Command, where engagements with traditional rulers, local government officials, security agencies, community leaders and police personnel reinforced the Ogun State Police Command's commitment to intelligence-led policing, public trust and grassroots security.

According to a statement released by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the visit forms part of the Command's broader strategy to strengthen collaboration with communities and key stakeholders while enhancing professionalism, operational effectiveness and intelligence gathering across the state.
The Commissioner paid courtesy visits to the palaces of the Olu of Itori, Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo, and the Olorile of Orile Ifo, Oba Abdul Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi, where discussions centred on the vital role of traditional institutions in promoting peace and supporting community policing. He also highlighted the successes of Operation Kosaye, describing the intelligence-driven initiative as a key tool in disrupting criminal activities and strengthening security across Ogun State.

At the Ifo Area Command Headquarters, CP Ojajuni met with stakeholders, including local government officials, representatives of sister security agencies, members of the Police Community Relations Committee and community leaders. He stressed that security remains a shared responsibility, calling for stronger intelligence sharing, closer inter-agency collaboration and greater public participation in crime prevention.
The engagement also featured presentations on the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) and the Gateway Shield digital platform, both designed to strengthen preventive policing through youth advocacy, community engagement and real-time crime reporting.
Addressing officers and men of the Area Command, the Commissioner urged them to uphold discipline, professionalism and integrity in the discharge of their duties, reaffirming the Command's commitment to building a policing system anchored on public confidence, operational excellence and sustained community partnership.
