CP OJAJUNI RALLIES COMMUNITIES, INDUSTRY LEADERS BEHIND SECURITY DRIVE IN OTA

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has called for stronger collaboration between the police, traditional institutions, local governments and the private sector during a familiarization visit to the Ota Area Command in Sango-Ota.

Received with a guard of honour, the Commissioner was welcomed by the Area Commander, ACP Shola Oladele, who highlighted the Command's recent operational gains, including coordinated crackdowns on criminal hideouts, arrests of suspected kidnappers and sustained efforts against cultism. She also outlined operational challenges ranging from inadequate patrol vehicles and manpower to poor road infrastructure and the abandoned Gateway Hotel, which she described as a refuge for criminal elements and asked for the Commissioner to look into these challenges.

CP Ojajuni commended the Area Command for improving security in one of Ogun State's busiest industrial corridors and assured officers of continued support. He also praised traditional rulers, local government officials and sister security agencies for their role in making the area safer, urging police personnel to remain professional and community-focused.

The visit included courtesy calls on Shongai Technologies Limited, Papilon Company Limited and Geepee Industries, where the Commissioner acknowledged the companies' contributions to employment, economic growth and corporate social responsibility, describing them as important partners in crime prevention.

At the palace of the Olota of Ota, His Majesty Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege III, CP Ojajuni credited Operation Kosaye with strengthening security across Ogun and neighbouring Lagos State through intelligence-led policing and community collaboration. The monarch commended the Commissioner for the operation's impact and praised ACP Shola Oladele and officers serving in the Ota Area Command for their commitment to public safety.

The visit reinforced the Ogun State Police Command's strategy of building security through closer engagement with communities, businesses and traditional institutions.
