OGUN POLICE LAUNCH COORDINATED SEARCH FOLLOWING HOSTEL KIDNAP IN IPARA

A coordinated security operation is underway in Ogun State following the abduction of occupants from a private hostel in the Ipara area, an incident that has triggered an intensive manhunt involving the Police and other security agencies. Tactical units and intelligence teams have been deployed across the area as authorities work to rescue the victims safely while tracking those responsible for the attack.

According to a statement released by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the Ogun State Police Command activated an immediate operational response after receiving a distress report on the night of Wednesday, July 29, 2026. The statement noted that the Command, working alongside other security agencies, swiftly mobilized tactical personnel and intelligence assets to the affected area, with rescue efforts and pursuit operations continuing without interruption.

The latest operation reflects the Command's emphasis on rapid response and inter-agency collaboration in addressing violent crimes. Security operatives are combining intelligence gathering, field surveillance and coordinated tactical deployment to locate the victims and dismantle the criminal network behind the abduction. While operational details remain closely guarded to preserve the integrity of the rescue mission, authorities have assured residents that every available resource is being committed to achieving a successful outcome.

The Police have also appealed for public restraint, urging parents, students and residents to remain calm and avoid circulating unverified reports capable of creating unnecessary anxiety or compromising ongoing security operations. Officials stressed that misinformation can undermine tactical efforts and hamper investigations at a critical stage.
As security agencies intensify the search, the Ogun State Police Command reaffirmed its' commitment to safeguarding lives and bringing those responsible to justice.
