CP OJAJUNI ENGAGES STUDENTS, YOUTH GROUPS ON SAFTY, CRIME PREVENTION

Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni is pushing security beyond patrol vehicles and police stations. His latest engagements with student and youth leaders place dialogue, moral re-orientation and early intervention at the heart of the Command’s strategy against crime and social vices.

According to a statement released by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the Commissioner received separate delegations from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), led by its' Secretary General, Comrade Oladimeji Uthman and the Afenifere National Youth Council, led by its' National President, Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The meetings focused on campus security, youth engagement, crime prevention and stronger cooperation between young people and the Police.
The NANS delegation highlighted security concerns affecting tertiary institutions, including the protection of lives and property and the spread of social vices. The association also recognised Ojajuni’s leadership by naming him NANS National Ambassador Against Social Vices, while pledging continued support for safer learning environments across the state.
Ojajuni used the engagement to spotlight the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), which has been launched in Ogun State. A wider sensitization campaign is expected to address cultism, drug abuse, cybercrime and other threats confronting young people, with NANS expected to play a key role in taking the message into tertiary institutions.

The second youth delegation, from the Afenifere National Youth Council, also commended the Commissioner’s security record and presented him with an award recognising him as Best Commissioner of Police in the South-West of Nigeria on Security.

Beyond the accolades, CP Ojajuni challenged the youth organisation to look inward. He stressed the importance of restoring values such as discipline, integrity, hard work, respect and responsible citizenship, while urging the council to remain apolitical and concentrate on youth welfare and development.
