OGUN POLICE AND IMMIGRATION SEEK CLOSER COORDINATION ON STATE SECURITY

Thee Ogun State Police Command and the Nigeria Immigration Service are looking to tighten the channels between them, with intelligence sharing and coordinated operations being the centre of discussions in Abeokuta.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, received the Ogun State Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, CIS Ganiyu Oladele, alongside his delegation, during a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, on September 17, 2026.
The meeting focused on reinforcing cooperation between the two security agencies, particularly through the exchange of intelligence, joint vigilance and coordinated responses to security concerns across the state.
Oladele acknowledged the importance of maintaining close operational links between Immigration and the Police, particularly in an environment where movement across communities and borders can carry wider security implications. He also commended Ojajuni’s leadership and the operational gains recorded by the Ogun Command since his assumption of office.
For CP Ojajuni, the visit was less about ceremony than the practical business of keeping two institutions connected. He reaffirmed the Police Command’s willingness to work closely with Immigration and sustain the channels required for timely information exchange and joint security efforts.
The Commissioner also wished Oladele a successful tenure and pledged the Command’s continued cooperation as both agencies pursue their respective responsibilities within the broader national security framework.
