The Ogun State Police Command has taken its' campaign against cultism, drug abuse and other social vices to a national youth leadership gathering, using the platform to challenge teenagers and young adults to make choices that protect their futures and strengthen their communities.

In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, on November 3, the Command said its' Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), working alongside the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), engaged participants at the Royal Ambassadors Nigeria National Leadership Training Conference, themed Divine Companion.

The Ogun delegation was led by the state POCACOV coordinator, ASP Oluborode Opeyemi. The conference brought together young people from different parts of the country for leadership development and discussions on personal values, civic responsibility and crime prevention.

The sensitisation session examined the dangers of cultism, cybercrime and substance abuse, as well as the influence of negative peer pressure and deceptive recruitment tactics. Participants were encouraged to recognise the warning signs of criminal associations and resist pressures that could compromise their ambitions.

Opeyemi emphasised the importance of early value formation, describing young people as essential partners in building safer communities. He urged them to demonstrate integrity, accountability and patriotism, while taking an active role in positive community engagement.

The Royal Ambassadors Nigeria leadership commended the police and NDLEA for extending preventive engagement into faith-based youth institutions, noting the value of cooperation between law enforcement agencies and organisations involved in shaping young people's character.

The conference ended with participants pledging to reject social vices, uphold high moral standards and promote peaceful conduct in their communities.
